Recap: How to Move SharePoint Content

In this short video, Benjamin Niaulin will show you how to Move SharePoint Content using Sharegate. This tool is the simplest way there is to move content from one list or document library to another.

It all starts from the Sharegate home screen. Once you have selected Copy SharePoint Content in the menu, click on the old site you want to copy from and press ''Connect''.  Then, simply select the list or document library you wish to copy from and click ''Next.

Sharegate user-friendly interface will then show you on the left the source and on the right the destination towards which you want to move your SharePoint content. You only have to select the documents you want to copy using the Control or Shift keys.

The moment you are ready to migrate your content, you simply have to drag and drop the elements to the right and click on ''Copy''. You will be able to choose the propriety template you want to use for the migration. By selecting the full copy mode, you will transfer all the version history as long as the versioning is enable in the chosen destination. You can keep all the information you want: authors, time stamps, metadata, etc. for every selected document.

It is important to remember that all of this will only work if you have the same columns names at the destination. Make sure the information is correct. Once all of this is done, the only thing left to do is to click on ''Full Copy''.  And that's it! All the selected content is now migrated.
